The main body of your oven can be removed from the box. Next, unfold the legs supporting the main portion of the oven. Before you insert the grate, slide the pizza stones into the base. You then attach the main chimney, the taller part at the front, and lock it into position. Next, you insert the fuelhopper (the smaller cylinder towards the back). You're done!
With this in my mind, I set mine up on a wooden table placed on our patio. It's quite sheltered, with a garden wall on two sides and a fence on the other. This keeps it away from the wind.
Do not be fooled by the small dimensions of this pizza oven. This pizza oven can deliver delicious pizzas as good as any pizza shop. It has been a great addition to our outdoor entertaining area and we are excited to return it to its former glory this spring and summer.
Be aware that the oven can flicker if there is a slight breeze when you open it to turn the pizzas or remove them. It isn't a problem for anyone who is baking pizzas. But, it is worth making sure that the rear of your oven is well away from any children.
You have to feel it all, and there is a steep learning curve. My theory? A lot of that is down to the small fireplace mentioned in the preceding section.
The oven doesn't come with a thermometer so you have to guess when it will be ready to heat. In most cases, however, it only took about 15 minutes to heat up. If rolling flames can be seen along the roof, it's ready to go.
In general, pellets have a lot going for them. As mentioned elsewhere, they and they burn very efficiently (though this last point is debatable when cooking at the high temperatures needed for proper pizza-making).
There are two things that I don't like about the overall design. The peephole in front of the oven, which is supposed to allow you to inspect the temperature of the pie, is too small for me to see. It's also difficult to maintain a constant flame because the firebox at the back of the stove is too small.
The Ooni Ovens are unique in that they have a vent at the back. This helps to collect air from the oven. It is very useful considering that the pellet hopper cannot gather enough air as it is always covered.
The Fyra delivers as promised on its promise to be portable. The chimneys are designed to fit into the oven cavity. Its powder-coated exterior, which weighs in at just 20 pounds, is strong and scratch resistant.
My favorite thing about the oven is how easy it is to use. The wood pellets and fire starter combo could not be simpler, and so long as you keep the hopper filled to the top (and don’t, as I did on one occasion, forget about it while eating pizza for 45 minutes), you’ll be rewarded with consistent, very high temperatures. The first time I used the Fyra, I was scared about getting the pizza off the peel and into the oven, not maneuvering the pie around the oven correctly, or otherwise ruining dinner by having no experience working with a pizza oven before, but the entire process was intuitive. Without ever interacting with live fire, you reap all of the flavorful benefits in your cooking.
A great part of outdoor cooking is the minimal cleanup. Fyra 12 is different. Soot buildup even with well-oxygenated flames is common. It's not enough to clean one part. Fyra 12 features two chimneys. One is for pellet-loading and the other is for smoke. The pizza stones are easy to clean.
The Ooni Fyra 12 portable pizzeria oven is lightweight and compact. It is currently the most affordable model in the company's range. You can fuel it with wood pellets which you put in a hopper at your oven's back. There are no flames to ignite, logs or charcoal to arrange, and you should not touch a propane tank.
Before cooking pizzas in the Ooni Fyra I ran it for 30 minutes at high temperatures and allowed it to cool down, before wiping the inside with dry kitchen towel. Ooni says this is important to do in order to remove any residues from the manufacturing process before cooking in it.
I couldn't be more pleased with this. I cannot praise this pizza oven enough. It's lightweight, easy to assemble and move around in your garden. Even if you have a small backyard or balcony, this is a great purchase. You'll soon be able to make your favorite pizza oven recipes.
This pizza oven's small size shouldn't deceive you. It can produce delicious pizzas just like the ones at your favorite pizza place. We love it and can't wait for the summer to test it again.

It all feels like that, and the learning curve can be steep. My theory: It all comes down to that small firebox I mentioned in section 1.
Ooni Fyra 12 also allows you to cook other dishes, provided that your cookware fits in the oven slot. Ooni also offers recipes on its website, such as banana bread and duck breasts. The Ooni Fyra 12 can also be used to cook other foods. This will work with a tiny cast-iron skillet. However, you will need to take the skillet out and turn the food inside. The handle of the skillet won't stick to the oven. Ooni, however, has its own cast-iron skillet that can be removed. I don't like this (the pan is also small and fragile, IMO) so I will stick with pizza.
There are a few other issues with the Ooni Fyra 12, but they were things that I could have expected and I felt I could deal with. Cleaning the oven can be a bit tedious. After allowing the oven to cool completely, and then disposing of any ashes, wipe down the oven with a dry cloth. To really clean the baking pan, I used a fish spatula with some elbow grease. However, I found that high heat helps to burn any remaining bits.
Ooni Fyra has a lot to offer and is well worth the money.

People love how simple it is to set it up, the high quality of its materials and how lightweight it is. People are also impressed with the quality of the pizzas it makes.
At the end of the day, though, the real question hanging over the Fyra 12 is whether or not it can cook a high-quality pizza. It's an easy yes, as long you don't mind navigating around its quirks.

Ooni suggests that your pizza oven should be placed in an area that is protected from wind, and at least 3ft (1m) from any structures. This will ensure the best results. It should be placed on wooden or stone, marble, or stainless steel surfaces, according to Ooni.

Does it deliver high-quality pizza? Is it easy and simple to use Is it possible to take it on the road with you? To find out, I spent more than a month testing it.
Most Ooni pizza ovens are built well from materials including stainless steel, which makes them durable enough to stay outside for reasonable periods of time. If you choose to leave your Ooni outside, just make sure it is sheltered from rain, snow, and high winds so that you can extend the life of your pizza oven.
Once your oven has reached high temperatures, the smoke should lessen (see below). If you see lots of smoke in the middle of your cook, you may have incomplete combustion or smoldering pellets. Top up a little until you see the pellets begin to burn again. 22 Feb 2022
